Subject: Absolute encoders
Tom,
Daft question of the day.
Is there any way to configure kflop to run with absolute encoders?
Just had a few power cuts mid machining which almost caused a few train wrecks!

Hi Richard,

Not really sure what you mean by that.  The lights went out?

KFLOP doesn't directly support absolute encoders.  Depending on the type and number of bits and IO pins you have you can possibly interface with a User program.

If the encoder outputs "gray" code then the bottom two bits can sometimes work just like an incremental encoder - but I guess that doesn't help if you are looking for a power loss recovery.
